Junior Soccer Starts

On behalf of the committee we would like to officially welcome you to our club and hope your upcoming year is an enjoyable one. We are only a small group of volunteers doing our best to give the kids a go and we are always looking for more volunteers. Our whole aim is to provide a fair and even competition where all kids get an equal opportunity to shine. We apologise for our website and it’s inconvenience but we are in the process of tidying it up but we have had a few technical difficulties, for any tech savvy guys or girls who would like to help tidy it up and make it more user friendly please come and see us.

Due to the late regos teams should be posted on our website tonight. With the late regos, it also makes it difficult to pick teams and also the number of teams, a few of our age groups could possibly and up with another team which changes so many things, e.g. the draw.

For any information please visit our website www.younglionssoccerclub.com.au

All teams can be found here under the juniors tab with the Gala Day Draw.

This Saturday we finally kick off, all games will be run by the siren. First game starts at 9.00, half time at 9.14 where teams swap straight over and 9.28 will be full time with the next game starting 2 minutes later at 9.30. The majority of games will be played at GUS SMITH Oval but due to the size of the day and amount of teams our under 17’ will play at Hall Bros Oval.

Coaches and managers are asked to arrive early to grab their shirts and bags or alternatively you can pick them up off Ray Mitchell and if you do not have a coach or manager, a parent might have to please take on this responsibility.

All games will be like our carnival day with the siren in action. There will be no refs for the under 6 or 7 age groups. These are done by parent helpers.

The Young Lions Soccer Club asks that any parent or guardian, who does NOT want their child’s photo taken or published, to please let us know as soon as possible.

Many hands make light work and every week we will encourage teams to help out in the canteen especially if it is busy.

We really appreciate the effort of all coaches and especially those parents who are stepping up to coach or manage a team this year. Parents, be appreciative of your child’s coach’s efforts and consider them by being prompt when collecting your child from trainings and games. Your coach and team will decide what night to train.

Keep Kicking !
